The flesh tones are very good, as well as the rest of the figure. I wish I could paint that well any day. Will look forward to seeing it finished.

Guys,

Thanks again for the very kind comments. I do hope to try and get better but for where I am now I guess it will have to do. :)

Jim and the rest, here is my crazy new approach.
Oils Base: Mars Brown + Cad Lemon + A flesh color (W/N of Rembrandt) + Tit White

Shadows: Mars Brown + Burnt Umber
deeper: Burnt Umber
Deepest: Purple Madder Aliz.

Highlights: Naples Yellow + Tit White
Higher: more Tit White
Highest: Tit White

The acrylics are then applied afterwards.
Highlight: #804 Beige Red
Highest: #804 Beige Red + #815 Basic Skintone

Shadow: #941 Burnt Umber
Deeper # 941 Burnt Umber + #859 Cadmium Maroon

Here are a few examples. I also use this for the veins and fingernails.

Wow!

Looks great Joe!
And very fast! I take months to get through a figure.

Thanks for the flesh mixes.
Andy

Guys,

Thanks again for the kind comments. I am glad to be able to be back painting. There are several of you on PF that have helped to keep me motivated!

Andy and Keith,

I am glad that you enjoyed the mixes. Hopefully they help. Like I said I am still trying to find something that will work and maybe one day I can make the big switch!

Very nicely done, Joe! I particularly like the fleshtones; makes the guy look really old.
