Definitely agree with Gordy that it is one of your best to date, really stands out from the crowd mate, very original and different.

hello
i like it an lot 1:12 is this then the size of the pilots you made like Udet or WOLF???
or is it the size like the Ritter Von Schleich or the german feldwebel you made
sorry for the dumb question you have two sizes in you work,by the way i like all!!!
neverless its an stunner
one of the best so far
you get the feeling and liuttle story in your work.specialy on the limited room of an bust this is really hard to achieve
well done my respect(y)(y)(y)

Thanks for the comments Guys. The scale of this bust and most of the pilots are 1/12(my printing error). The bust will depict the chin closer to the violin,it just lightly put together to give an idea how the pieces look .
cheers
Andy

Just to be different I quite like the juxtaposition reflected in the piece by the weapon and the violin. Just seems that the weapon cuts the harmony between man & instrument. Or is that just sounding pretentious?

Geoff

That's so cool, lively and original! I'm looking forward to seing this one painted; I expect this guy to be absolutely outstanding at the end of the day.

Hi Andy,
Excellent bust, as noted before, it is better sling the gun over his back. I played the violine for long time in my youth and I would like so say, that you can`t play the violone with this position of the gun. But with the gun on the back you habe a very good contrast of two very different "instrument". This soldier shows me two different characters of human beeings. On one hand, the hard job of a soldier. On the other hand some human characters.
Cheers
Bastian

Great piece of work!!

I assume the ebony tuning keys and the ebony fingerboard of the violin come apart ( not to mention the strings)?

great wrinkles!

René

Rene,
The finger board and tuning forks are seperate.Although the tuners spindle is cast on the violinn it would be better to make these from plastic or brass rod.
Andy

also miss the chin rest that in the Baroque era was common to have none.
The bridge however, how does it look?

I like to notice these things, play the cello ( foremost classical guitar)

to make this one look devastating add some white under the part of the bridge ( merely for the painter).
That's where the resin of the bow which is treated with it will leave the hairs, also on the strings in this area, they look very white where they are stressed on the bridge.

the resin makes the hair on the bow sticky and prevent the strings for screaming sounds.
