Hello Friends.

I´m happy to be here again to show you one of my recent figures. I´m talking about a misterious wizard based on the books of Margareth Weiss And Tracy Hickman "Dragonlance".
I´m sure they are well known for all fantasy lovers as I was a continue being.
I´ve had the oportunity to sculpt this character for a new firm, Nocturna Models and it is already aviable in this website.

Cor, thats right up my street, love it especially with the hair. you have captured the story well in this figure, love the face.

Wonderful figure. I have already bought one it should get here any day now. I always loved Larry Elmore's paintings of Raistlin. This should be a lot of fun to paint.

In fact, Larry Elmore´s has mainly been my whole inspiration for this figure. I´m glad you have recognize it.

I hope you enjoy your painting. Thank you very much.

I have always liked Larry's work. Back in the 80's when I was a college student my best friend and I sold painted figures at conventions to make a little extra money. Larry used to go to one of the shows that we went to every year and he liked our work and would trade us signed prints for our figures. It was very flattering. To get a large sighed print for a 25mm figure was pretty cool. He is a super nice guy. He likeed my Dragon Lance figures and I always gave him first pick of any figures he liked. I think he has more of the Dragon Lance figures I painted then any one else. I do not think I have very many of those figures in my figure case. I still have quite a few unpainted. Don't we all.

He did not do that with everybody who sold painted figures. So I always felt honored that he did that for us. I still have those prints. His work has always been an inspiration to me. One thing I always loved about his charters was that they looked like they had been out in the field, they were not clean the clothes showed signs of wear and tear and so did the equipment they carried.Your Raistlin is wonderful and yes I see Larry's influence on the figure. I hope I do your great sculpt justice.

I got my figure today and it is very nice. The molding is all very crisp and the casting plugs are very small and easy to remove. About the only thing I can stay that I am a little disappointed with is the staff. It is cast cleanly but is is a very thin part and as such is slightly warped. Parts this thin are very weak when made out of resin. So I will more then likely replace the staff with a more rigid material. This kit might benefit from this part being cast in metal. Or having a very thin wire inserted in the mold before casting to make this part more rigid.

I am really looking forward to painting this figure. My only dilemma will be which head to use. and which color to paint the robes red or black. I have always liked the red robe with the black trim. Decisions, decisions...

PS
Mortimer,

Great engineering on this little kit. I can not see any where that will need filling or blending with putty.

you can unwarp the staff with hot water, not too hot though. straighten it whilst hot, after 10 seconds it will stay in that shape. Hope that helps

I do know that trick but I have seen thin parts slowly go back to being warped just due to gravity. I think I will go with a new brass staff with the detail parts from the original part added to it. Really this is a vey minor thing. The kit is very nice and well worth buying.

Thak you
