I remember reading a post on the web site of one of the major figure producers that claimed "until you have painted at least 20 figures, the results will be horrible!!"

This blows that theory right out of the water. This is not horrible at all. It is a great third figure.

WOW, bas si ih zaredjao...
Opet ista kritika kao i malopre. Treba ti nesto oko figure, ovako izgleda prazno.
Ovu bih figuru nabavio. Stit je extra...

Looks excellent, as has been said it looks a bit glossy, get yourself a can of Testors dullcoat, that should matt it down

Hi Dekiman

As everyone says great effort for only your third figure, great shield, don't know what paints you are using if it's acrylics try a speck of tamiya matt medium to flat your paints down a bit.

Cheers

Neil

Hi Dekiman
As posted this is wonderful work for a third figure excellent, read as much as you can practice and experiment you for sure have a natural flare for this ,as mentioned a little Matt medium will kill down any shine .
Keep the great work coming and enjoy the process
Cheers Chris

Hey mate. Wish I had something differnt to add but it's all been said. Great work, cant believe it's only number 3. Shield is very well done. Keep up the good work. Im looking foward to seeing more from you.

Very well done for only your third figure. My third figure certainly did not look anywhere near that good.

Ok,

I'll give you my critique. The face needs additional contrast. The Hi's should be higher. Push the contrast on the high's. To my eyes it looks like you have mid-tone and then high's. You should start out with a darker base for the skin tone and work you way up in contrast add black or cavalry brown to you shadows/low's. Not all high's are the same color.

The leather is rather plain. Work for more contrast. Lighter at the top darker on the lower parts. Outline your leather in Black inks to make them standout. Use yellow rust or brown sand mixed with your base to paint the edges of your leather.

The pants look like they are just base coated. It may be the photos.

The Shield looks really food for only your third figure. Keep up the work, 20-30 figures is about right for when all of the concepts come together.

Buy Daniello Cartacci's book. It well worth the investment.
