Hello,

I've just finished this lovely one.

I did minors changes so the mini looks closer to Don Troiani painting.

Well done, sir. I've always like this figure but thought the pose a bit 'off'. Your changes have given the piece a much more natural feel to it. Wonderfully executed painting too.

Excellent job on this one!! This is definitely my favorite uniform from the ACW. I really like the way you did the trouser stripes... narrow-wide-narrow. Very effective!

Cheers

That's indeed a great piece of work overall. Nice scenery and fantastic painting.

How did you do the grass ? Look reaslistic !

Thx you all.

Unfortunately I will have to do again the bag's lace around the tree. It does not look real.....

For the grass, I have just glued some long grass.
And then I used an iron solder to burn (and then reduce) the high grass, to lower it.
But it also did burn it in a wild way that I did not expect. But I like it that way.

Salut Jean Paul,

I had the same question than Laurent. Does that mean it is natural grass ? That you burn ? If yes, where do you find such natural grass. I'm sure that if I test it myself, I could set my appartement on fire...
If by any chance you have any closeup pics, or in even better in progress pictures, that could be fantastic !
Best,
Julien

Hello Julien,

I dont remember the name of the grass, but I bought it from a model shop. It was destined for Train Modelers...
I guess its natural (or synthetic)....
With the iron I did not let it time to burn, just small touch at the time.

Here a pic before I used the iron :
