Hola Guys!

During the past couple of months a lot have been going on this end of the keyboard. Back in March I applied for a spot on a TV Show called Texas Ranch House, a part of the different House series from PBS (Frontier House and Colonial House). I didnt really think much of it but when I got an email asking if I would please send in a Video about my self I definately got more intrigued, and I sent the tape in, and about 100 or so pages later of different applications, doctors appointments even a visit to the shrink I have been accepted to be on the program.

We will spend 4 months in southwest Texas living just like they did back in 1867, with absolutely no modern commodities (although I heard we get to bring sunblock...the only link to modern life!!) living like they would have on a cattle ranch. The whole experience will be filmed and then aired (around Jan 06).

Needless to say I am pumped about this, it will be awesome to ride my horse (They let me bring my own horse!!!) on a ranch in the south west working the cows and the ranch, much like the American ancestors did 137 years ago.

I will miss sculpting and painting, but when I get back, I am sure I will be so full of inspiration to work on western subjects that some figures will be produced!

It sucks to miss Tulsa, Expo and Mastercon, but I could not pass this up, this is a once in a life time experience and have always been a dream of mine and it is actually becomming reality.

Anders, My wife and I watch the shows on PBS and will look forward to seeing you out on the range. Don't let anyone feed you too much rattlesnake, rocky mountain oysters, or prairie caviar. I too think you have a neat and memorable experience ahead of you. And I look forward to the inspiration your experience yeilds in figures, busts.

Best of Everything, Terry Martin

I bet the cattle are nervous   Congratulations, amigo!!! I know you've been working really hard towards this, so I'm very happy for you. Remind me to get your autograph in Chicago :)

Good luck, dude!

Well, that is just great! Good for you.

This is a real opportunity for you. Pls check in with us when you get back.

Good Luck :)

Keith

Or you will be so sick of 1867 you will sculpt anything but weatern subjects.Just kidding. We've had a few talks about this upcoming experience and it's gonna be one for the books to say the least. Those are great shows on PBS, although one family on Colonial house ruined the entire experience with their own brand of "family values" instead of staying within the guidelines of society. It would be great to see everyone stick to a 19th century mindset so as not to ruin it for those, like yourself with a genuine interest. Good luck buddy.~Gary

Git along little dogies!
What a great opportunity! We'll miss you at The Tulsa Show and can't wait to hear about your experience!
All the best to you,
Mark

We're gonna miss you in Tulsa, bud. But what an opportunity. I really hope you have a great time, but you better practice rolling your own smokes, because the Marlboro Man didn't live in the 19th century.

Howdy Anders,
that's going to be too cool, I'll make a point of catching the program when it airs.
Just don't use that HBO series "Deadwood" as a vocabulary primer or else the FCC'll git ya. (even if you accidentally brand yourself) :) Again, too cool!

What an exciting adventure you are going to have! 1867. Watch out for displaced Civil War veterans and Apaches. You should have a blast. I am very happy for you. I have the first two house series on DVD, and look forward to seeing this one. Best of luck.
Pete

Anders, we'll miss you at Expo, but this certainly sounds like a great opportunity. You'll definately have a fan base when the show airs. Heck, maybe we'll even create a fan site for you for all the PBS groupies that you'll attract!

Have fun, and let us know how it went just as soon as you can.

Hi Anders

Congratulations! And having watched the other shows, maybe condolences for the hardships you'll encounter!!! ;-)

Have a great time, and good luck.

Andy
