I've posted a few pictures of my models on PF and I have been pretty chuffed with the replies. One of the first was of a Para in the Falklands and some comments were made with regards to weathering the figure, I took the points on board and used them for the Scots Guardsman again from the Falklands and the response was alot better. Without the advice given on my first figure I would have carried on without improving. My current project I will be posting the end results in a couple of weeks to get some feedback on how to improve.

Interesting comment regarding becoming a supporter Mark-I've flagged this up before.

1) How do you do it?
2) Who are you supporting?
3) How much is it?

If the answers to these questions were more obvious then the result might be more positive..........Just a thought........Keith(y)

Thank you all for the great response. Some very good points have been made.
I do now understand a bit more about why people comment or not.I will keep on posting my work to contribute to PF.
I have learned quite a few things from PF regarding painting and do feel that my painting has improved especially when it comes to painting red.I now paint more red than I used to.
Cheers.
Ralph.

Hi Keith,
1) You go to your profile at the top of this page i.e. Tecumsea with the little circle with a downward pointing arrow in it and click on that which opens your details....from there you go down to the bottom and open the tag which says "Account Upgrade" and from there you have the option of subscription.
2) Well the money goes to the owner I imagine, who negates all advertising on the forum for you while you're logged in. Obviously the forum owner sells advertising on the forum, but if you pay a subscription that advertising is deemed unnecessary.
I know some people who are more clever than myself have already found ways to delete the advertising without paying the subscription so I suppose that's always an alternative but personally I'm quite prepared to pay for what I consider a very valuable resource.
3) Keith, the last time I paid I think it was $15.00us annually....which is reasonable I reckon for such an incredible archive of figure modelling.

And on the last point Keith, you've identified the obvious point here I believe. It's never been promoted or brought to the attention of members for some reason which is why I'm going to make a claim for a percentage of any further subscriptions for this point onward.
But seriously I have no connections with the forum ownership but I just thought members should be aware of the option of subscription.
Cheers Keith.

Plus the fact, that whilst being a supporter you can post images on 'Private message'. A damn handy option! for those who are reluctant to post there work in the public arena! ;) ..As well as a possible business tool!

Mark

that was easy Mark and peanuts to pay for the pleasure the forum provides.

Maybe you should flag this up in a post as I am sure others would do the same. I already have my adverts switched off which is quite easy if you use google chrome.

Keith

I'm glad I could help Keith, and yes you may be right again about making this topic a separate thread.

Stereotyping Scotsmen is not a good idea,as we can always be what you seem to think we're like. We'll let everybody buy us drink, as we're too tight, and then we'll kick the shit out of everybody,as we're very violent.Which we all know is bullshit, and it gets a bit wearing after a while. So let's all act like adults and stop all the barbed comments.
See you guys at Euro
Brian

I "Like" and/or comment on work that I admire, regardless of who created it. I try to encourage and inform as often as I can, but confess that I disregard giving kudos to those WIP threads where photos are posted of figures that aren't even beyond primer or underpainting (unless they are previews of new releases etc.). Such threads are jumping the gun in my mind.

Appreciate the apology Mark, but there was no need, as i think this effing indy thing is getting on everyones nerves and i for one am a wee bit tetchy over the whole dam thing,so i sympathise with my English compatriots, as you too have to put up with all this crap.No matter what happens on Thursday i'll still be British and Salmond and co can stick it up his a***.
I'm not about to fall out with anybody on this forum for anyone, especially when it's a half wit like Salmond.
