As the title suggests, I have a 1:1 scale bust of Frankenstein, (given to me a few years back). I really don't like the way it's painted, and have considered repainting it. It seems doubtful I'll ever part with it, so I suppose I can do whatever I want, but I wanted to find out what you fellas thought.

The worst (to me), is that there's little or no transition between dark color around eyes, and surrounding skin colors. To me, this looks odd.

The possibilities are endless with this bust, quite a challenge painting 1:1, depends how you visualise the result and how good your figure painting skills are.

Agreed. I may just leave well enough alone, it's just always bugged me. If I messed it up though, replacing it wouldn't be cheap.

I'd leave it alone then mate you never know what might happen if you try and re-paint it or strip it.

I'm going to offer a dissenting opinion. I think a figure's never really yours until you've painted it - or at least changed it in some way. Some of the figures I'm proudest of are repaints of other people's work; buying somebody else's botched job is a brilliant way to get rare kits, apart from anything else (y)

I think the transition between the dark under the eyes is fine, but there's just too much of it. This is about as close as we might get to seeing what Karloff's makeup looked like in colour:
