Well got to think seriously of stashing the garden furniture away for another year as the summer in Scotland comes to an abrupt end

We've got another two months at least, before temperatures dip consistently into autumn ranges. For me, it's the days getting shorter that I always notice first. I ride bike after work, 20 miles or more, and by the end of this month, I'll be coming home in twilight.

Prost!

I hate the summer also but only in Scotland  give me a Tuscan summer or a month in Provence any day :D

I prefer not to imagine then what kind of activity will you practice to get the heat when the cold dark winter scottish weather arrive...
Here there's still a lot of warm days ahead to keep practising summer water sports

Something weird is going on, Autumn seems to be creeping in early this year no joking :stop::stop: . In my garden certain types of late summer and autumn plants have flowered already , I have berries on my holy tress and the blackberries have already gone over ( I love blackberry and apple pie  eemmm pie ) as kids we use to pick these by the bucket load towards the end of August into September . Driving along today I drove over some funny round things that went squidge and then splat , it turned out to be conkers they shouldn't be around for at lest another six weeks and tonight I found ripe hazelnuts . Now this might be my imagination but the sun seems a lot lower in the sky than it should be for this time of year . For those North of the border It's a bright yellow round thing found in the sky , it works it's way from east to west most days and gives off a bit of warmth . My Tip get in the bird feed and build up the log pile I think we could see an early winter and my right knee is giving me jip already so what more proof do you need .

We have just endured a gruelling, harsh 4 week winter here in Perth. The day time maximum temperature (in Celsius) at one stage dipped into the teens, and we shivered through overnight low temperatures in the single digits. I've had to put on my winter thongs, t-shirt and shorts.

Thankfully this torment is almost over and we can bask in glorious Aussie sunshine for the next 11 months.

Here it was (with humidity) 35 degrees C... I can't wait for it to cool off a bit. It would be nice to stop sweating ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!!!!
15 to 20 degrees would suit me just fine. We won't get that until late september, early october.

Here in Singapore it is easy to lose track of time of year as the weather is always the same: 30 deg, 90% humidity.
I can only say if it's day or night.(And not even that when in the office...)

Hail the inventor of air conditioning.

Cheers

Here it is always raining so you can never tell whether it is summer or winter :)

well if you guys are putting your outdoor furniture away I had better get mine out, last week we had a couple of 20 something degrees, the week before was single digits all week...what a funny winter.
