A Fixture
let me present you my latest fig
sculpture by par Maurizio Bruno...
of course a 75 mm Pegaso (Pégaso what else... )
In 1811 as a result of a request made by their commander Edward de Colbert they obtained uniforms like their polish colleagues of the 1st Regiment. They wore a characteristic headgear known as Kurtka.
The red Lancers only enterted combat in 1812 during the Russian campaign where they fought bravely.
Only 200 men survived the Russian retreat...
They were reorganised in 1813 and continued service during the "100 days" fighting at the battle of Waterloo.
The figure represents a Trumpet Major during Napoleon's birthday celebration in august 1811.
The Major wore a spectacular white uniform with a white luxurious busby made of bear skin ( replaced by the shapska in 1813 )
this is what i found on the "planches Rousselot " (in french only sorry)
"d'après les marchés 1811 , le trompette-major est plus luxueusement équipé que les trompettes.En plus de sa kurtka garnie de galons de marechal-des-logis-chef, vraisemblablement, d'un triple galon au collet et d'un double au parement, il reçoit un colback blanc à flamme écarlate orné d'un cordon."
painted with oils (mostly W and N and some Lefranc)
only the actual metal parts were painted with inks
hope you like it
happy new year to you all
