I have just started this one, he is undercoated but not attached to the base, which has been finished. Having found photos on line of the area around Salamanca, this is the nearest I could come up with.

I am still researching which Guards unit to portray, either Grenadier or Coldstream. Will have to get some very small blobs of putty.

Looks good Bob....great to be back on the red tunics...(y). Mike

They are the ones I like. Simple pose, quality sculpt and my favourite 54mm. I'm on this one(y)!

Phil

Great start Bob. Groundwork looks good and like the pose of this one.

Neal

Thank you very much all of you. Yes, lovely to be back on the red tunics and this one sold it too me by the pose. It's a great pose, as if he is leading his company down the slope in extended line.
Update soon

Just a little update, the face has been done but may look again as not happy with the highlights.
Trousers and boots done. The leather reinforcements to the bottom of the trousers have been painted and I looked at this website and followed some of his technique.

The reds on the undress tunic are complete but may deepen the shadows slightly.
Happy days, it's wet outside, so more painting.

Cheers Nap, yes the shading on the red has now been darkened as for the photos I will sort it, they were taken on my phone and they are crap.
That tutorial on leather was quite good so I thought I would share the link.
All the best.

Going well, Bob, and your groundwork is about the right shade for that area--we were there 18 months ago. It is quite scrubby and sparse....low bushes and trees, where we were, anyway. And flaming hot!

Nice work so far Bob!

Phil

Cheers Alan, I looked at the internet for photos of the area around Salamanca and copied some of the area. I hope he looks hot!

Thank you Phil, getting there now the weather has changed.
