Well another Tulsa show is in the record books. It was a great weekend. The new Tulsa Medalist was Jason Green. He was also the recipient of the Best of Show, and Outstanding Exhibitor awards. Jason has been turning out Gold Medal work as long as I've known him. Recently he made a flawless transition to acrylics and his output has probably increased by a factor of five. My good friend Rusty Nail was there and won Gold as well for his very well done Boris, the werewolf. Anders Heintz had very nice display of Gold medal work as well. Tulsa local, Bob Davis pulled off a Hat Trick winning Gold Medals in all of the main categories. I was happy to have received a Gold in Open and Painters. My Alamo Scouts diorama was well received it seemed. A good time was had by all, and I can hardly believe the weekend passed so quickly. My show weekend was capped with a visit to Kimmy's across from the hotel for breakfast with the locals and the TX crowd.

Here's a link to a site devoted to the Alamo Scouts for your edification.

I can only echo what John has said here. It was a great time and I'm definitely glad I was able to attend. Jason, congrats to you my friend, simply outstanding work and justly awarded. Bob Davis' display was outstanding and his trifecta of awards is testament to that fact. Other outstanding work for me was Bob Bethea's child and Pirate vignette. Scott Primeau had one of the most outstanding versions of Young's modern Fallujah busts I’ve seen, that digital camo was NAILED! It won a well deserved gold. There were several outstanding Sherman tanks on display. Ron Hilker's helicopter was a stand out. Anders' display had some real gems, but my favorite was "Awaiting a Rank-One" which was justly, and profusely compensated during the awards assembly as well. Fletcher Clement had a couple new pieces that were a joy to look at. Several people had large displays that had all I could visually take in! Mike Meehan had a fantastic large display of work for his first show. His silver medal shows just how much his talents have been hidden until now! I’m sure that I’m forgetting something, so congrats to all the winners! I’ll have a load of pictures uploaded and a link posted soon.

Thanks Jay. It was really cool to finally meet you and the other guys, I only wish I could have stayed at the show for the entire time to meet everybody. I was sure excited to learn about the silver medal. I am really looking forward to attending more shows in the future and seeing more fantastic work on display. I couldn't believe all the incredible work that was at the show. Here is a small picture gallery from the HMSNEO website.

A little late posting report for the Tulsa show, but I did manage to up load some pretty decent photo's, 145 photo's that is, on photo bucket. Feel free to check them out on the link below.
This is my second year attending the show, and what a great show it is, I like to call it the mini Chicago show. I've met a couple PF modelers at the show, but I have to make an effort to meet some more folks at Chicago. Congrats to all that exihibited! (y)
