Normally I look straight past any WW2 german stuff, but I stopped dead at this one.
The face is a fantastic bit of brushwork of course.
The choice of the yellow scarf brings the eyes of the viewer down past the gold on the
cap to the coat buttons it's a clever compositional device that brings the figure together.
Without that, it's a great sculpt of a 'man in white cap and a leather coat'
