U.S. 101st Airborne 'Lt. Winters' (Scale 75)

Has been a while since I posted anything up, so here's one that I've just called time on - bar a minor touch-up I need to do on the left-side helmet strap after catching it as I was setting it up for the photo.



Done in oils over acrylics. My usual rubbish standard of photography but it' a lovely kit. Nicely cast, great fit and minimal clean-up and I enjoyed painting it.

Well done Steve! You've done a great job on a really nice figure. In fact if I was to do a WWII subject it would be this figure.

Very nice kit and execution. For conversation purposes only...I was under the impression that Dick Winters typically carried an M-1 Garand, not a Thompson? Does anyone have any insight?

@ lock-n-load - I think you may be right about the Garand (now you mention it, I think I recall reading that somewhere) but I'm not going to let it worry me, I'm just going to plaque it up as "U.S. 101st Airborne 1944).

@ Colin - here are a few more views.



As regards the shoulder patch, it's off an old Verlinden sheet. It's probably a tad over-scale (I managed to trim it down slightly) but my freehand skills are not up to painting something that small that well, so I decided that the decal was preferable to having a vague, painted mess on this arm (or no patch at all).
