As my next piece I decided to try for the ultimate sculpting and painting challenge. I'm not sure how this is going to work out.
She is taken from a painting by the 19th century painter Falero. Any comments or corrections will be welcome.

WOW!!!!!
Falero is a very hard act to follow John but you have made an amazing start.

If you did nothing else to this it is a fabulous sculpt.
I would say good luck but I don't think you need it.
All the best,
Keith

Thanks guys for watching this train wreck. Still not sure how it will come out. The sculpt is basically finished and was really challenging. It is a 120mm figure but she seems to have acquired a 150mm head, oh well. Apart from that several of the proportions are probably off but somehow I kind of like the result. There were several big challenges in this one. Inevitably only a part of the 3D figure is shown in the painting, her feet are quite complicated since she is not standing on anything, her hands were extremely delicate and the hair is impossible to recreate in putty. Having said that I am going to struggle on with the paint and see what happens.

I like it. The head may be a tad over scale but that is not unusual with a miniature. The feet, hands and features are all super.

Should look nice in the flesh....paint.
