Under construction Diorama(scale 54mm)

Assembly of the recreation of the battle of Thermopyle (480 B.C ) . The main elements of the reconstitution are the multiple modifications of the figures and the exceptionally large number of figures (120 – 160), which are shown in close combat between Greeks (Spartans, Mantineans, Tegeans, Arcadians, Corinthians, Phlians, Mycenaeans, Thespians, Thebans, Phocians, Locrians) and Persians Nation (Persians, Medes, Indians, Eyebolts and Sake, Aryan, Kissian, Assyrians, Parthians and Chorasmian, Sogdian, Sarangian, Paktyan, Mykian, Parikanian, Gandarian and Dadikian, Caspian, Arabs and Ethiopians, Lydians and Mysians, Paphlagonia and Matiinoi, Mariandynoi, Syrians and Ligyes, Phrygians and Armenians. Libyans, Kolhikou, Thracians, Lasonian, Calvian

Holy smokes! That looks very ambitious, to say the least. You're really going to use that many 54mm figures? I feel like such a slouch now because I've been working on Andrea's Waterloo diorama for 2 years now & it has only 6 soldiers & a horse. Man, there's a lot of painting in your future which should make you eligible for a lifetime acheivement award.

I look forward to watching your progress on this project. Good luck.

Mike

Mike .....i'm working in thermopyles diorama 2 years. I finished 95% from base and only 24 hoplites.most from them it's SCRATCHBUILT!!! and i painting some sields - 10 alone and 4 my best friend thodoris kelesidis-.

Thanks

Excellent! This is the kind of thing I love to see, 'ambitious' is one of my favorite words in the modelling world! I like the fact that you haven't tried to whittle down the scope and numbers of figures in your diorama.

Onward and upward!

Jon.

Hi Theodorikas,

Wow, that's a huge challenge you've set for yourself. Good luck and keep going. You've made an excellent start.

I'd like to see you post regular pics of this diorama so we can all enjoy watching it come together.

WOW! That is a big project you have taken on there, from the pictures the groundwork is looking good and the shields look pretty cool also, looking forward to following this and seeing some of the figures in place.

jon and james thans for your comments. The development is minimal because my personal time is limited. I hope to be able to have ready 100% in half at least until the end of the year

hello, Merry Christmas and Happy 2010.

although 2 years and then read ,,,,,, have just found something in my hands lakes .... what I will use the Persian army, was a big problem.

The HERODOTUS much written and wants very διαβασμα finally

So I found the following ........... put the algae here and suffer an Basher no harm to pc

Thus, in 480 BC the allied Greek army under the command of the king of Sparta, Leonidas, arrived at Thermopylae. The number of Greek soldiers was 7000. Details were 300 Spartans and 1,000 local residents, 500 Serenades, 120 from the Arcadian Orchomenos Tegeates 500, 1000 Arcadia, 400 Corinthians, 200 Fleiasioi, 80 Mycenaeans, 400 Thebans led by Leontiadis, 700 Thespians, led by Popular, 1000 Phokians and all the soldiers of Opountion Lokron

Herodotus also know what the nations juxtaposed against the Greeks at Thermopylae and who ruled. The following were:
Nation Chief
When the Persians, Xerxes' father in law.
Medes Tigranis
Indian Farnazarthis
Eyebolts and Sake Ystaspis, brother of Xerxes
Aryan Sisamnis
Kissi Anafi, son when
Assyrians Otaspis
Parthians and Chorasmioi Artabazos
Sogdoi Azania
Saranges Ferendatis
Paktyes Artafnos
Ud and Mykoi Arsamenis, brother of Xerxes.
Parikanioi Siromitris
Gandarioi and Dadikes Artyfios
Caspian Ariomardos, brother Artyfiou
Arabs and Ethiopians Arsamis, brother of Xerxes
Lydians and Mysians Artafernis, son of General homonym of the Battle of Marathon
Paphlagonia and Matiinoi Dotos
Mariandynoi, Syrians and Ligyes Govryas, brother of Xerxes.
Phrygians and Armenians Artochmis, married the sister of Xerxes
Libyans Masagis
Kolhikou, Thracians, Lasonioi,
Calves, Milyes Pisidia and led other rulers-related Xerxes

the building now, I made 2 Persian shields. one has been quite good and will be corrected after thrown in ritini. will be easier believe. now the material is not polyvoithane. within the "screens" are rubber set of figures from Germany, the framework is Balsa

the second set not yet finished continual grid remains the same. dressed but with a very thin skin. These compounds leather - mesh will get detailed pichaki Balsa

Finally all the dioramas as this one big dream I have to have naturally will have an information onomasia for the traveler. Of course it could with crazy that I carry to be something very simple or something that has been repeated ad nauseam in the past. So based on the name of the dioramas will include an imitation stone (plaster paint techniques imitation stone) with figures anaglifes the Battle of Thermopylae. that in the lower part shall also be carved the saying Oh, xein 'angelein Lakedaimoniois keimetha tide that, per her, rimasi peithomenoi. The entire stone REPRESENTATION be fitted flush to a natural wood
