I don't know if anybody else suffers from "i can't be bothered finishing a figure syndrome" I've been like this for some time now so i thought i would post the pictures of figures i've started but probably won't finish ,although i will probably finish the Byzantium eventually
I've started another figure with all the good intentions of finishing it,but time will tell.Basically i've finished only one figure this year.

Hey Brian

Its not quantity Brian, its quality.

I probably only finish one in every three or four figures I start, so you're not alone there.

Thanks for posting these pics, and I hope you do finish at least one of these.

Cheers

hi brian. sorry to hear your going through a motivation slump, your stuff has always been up there with the best and a pleasure to look at. let's hope next year they have to get more tables at euro because of the amount your entering. dave.

Well i dont have any unfinished projects. Ionly lay paint on one, when the previous is already in the display case. But the pieces you present here, are definately fine and deserve to get finished !!

Hi Brian,
the two busts are nearly finished and are excellent (as all of your work).
Keep it up and drop me a line some time !!
Regards
Pete Shaw

Hey Brian,

the faces are excellent! Sure it's an often case (for me definiately), put them aside, doesn't matter when you'll feel to finish them (but make sure you do! Would be a pity for them).

I finish everything I start, which I manage to do by virtue of painting only one figure at a time. When I've had five or more on the workbench at once, nothing ever seemed to get done.

I had this problem for a while, and ended up with so many partially done figures on my workbench that I had no room to paint. Now, like Steve, I only work on one project at a time. My problem was that I'd run into a technical problem on a figure, and instead of solving it, I'd move on to another figure thinking I'd solve the problem later. This did not work for me. Now, I wrestle with each problem as it comes up and finish the piece becasue there is no distraction of another figure. As I recall, Bill Horan's advice to newbies is to finish a figure and learn from it, even if you are not happy with the results. You can always do better on the next piece.

Hey Brian,

I think we all go through the stage of not wanting to finish a particular figure(s). When this happens to me I turn my attention to research and reading and soon find a spark that gets me going again. Incidentally your face on that 75mm figure is outstanding & thanks for all your help and inspiration to date.

Cheers for now
Franco
