I thought this might be of interest. Imagine being this poor guy. If he's young enough maybe he'll grow into his uniform. Though some soldiers owned privately purchased uniforms, this fella had to make do with what was issued to him.

When I got issued with my uniform back in the 1970s they said 'if it fits bring it back and we'll change it' - they obviously didn't tell these guys! :lol:
 
Dave, I guess he got what he got.

Anders, Though the number of sizes was limited, the diet and build of the average "Joe" back then was totally different from today. I've also seen a number of images that show the sleeves of the sack coats cuffed so they do not cover the wearer's hand. This was also done with trousers as well. It would make for an interesting figure.~Gary
