Hey

First I'd like to say I'm new to this forum and hope to learn useable techniques and tips from this site. Ofcourse I'll do what I can to help others with problems, but since I have a small amount of tips to offer I will be asking more than helping ;)

Alright, on to the TOPIC:

I've started collecting ww2 U.S. airbornes a while ago. I have two sets of Dragon's 1/35 U.S. army airborne (NORMANDY 1944) and am very pleased with how the models look.
Anyway, I can't get the right colour for the uniforms. It's very hard to get it right.
I paint with revell colours, but mostly humbrol paints, since they are better for military models imho.

Please help me out, I'll be grateful!

cheers,

Tim

Hey Tim!

Welcome to the Planet! I am confident that you will find a lot of help and inspiration here. As for the paratrooper colors, I am not sure with Humbrols, but there are several people here who uses them and maybe they can help you out.

I think it depends on what color you are doing, and what they para's are wearing. If they are wearing the M-42 Jump Smock, paint them in a tan color and if its the modified M-43 they should be a darker green. Do a google search for M-42 Jump Smock or M-43 Field Jacket and I am sure you will come up with sufficient results!

Hello Timothy,

I 've been here for about 8 months and i learnd so many.
I doesn't now anything about military colours, just khaki, buff, pantzer green ed.
You have to trust the earlier answers from Anders and Bert, they know a lot about the military uniforms.
