Interesting idea! I did something similar with tanks, from WW1 to present day US armor.
What about an exception for the WW2 part?Europe and the pacific,as the army handled europe and the marines handled the pacific (mostly).
Just my 2cents. (y)

Some figures I have seen to fill the bill:
F & I - Alpha Image Roger's Ranger
Am Rev - Ft Duquesne Rifleman in hunting shirt (militia)/Michael Roberts 1st New Hampshire 1780 (uniformed army)
War of 1812 - United Empire US Rifleman 1812
WWII Pacific - Michael Roberts PFC Paul E. Isom, USMC, Assistant Browning Automatic Rifleman, Okinawa 1945
Korean - Michael Roberts Sergeant KE Stelzel, USMC Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, Korea 1950
