US Unform tips???

I've been doing figures for quiet a while, but always steer clear of US figures. I don't have a problem doing W-SS dot camo, but have trouble painting a good M41 jacket on a GI!

I have a real good handle on the base coat, but get messed up on what to use to lighten/darken for highlights and shadow. Any tips??

Also, on the same sort of subject, US webgear was a khaki color, too. What is suggested to do to keep that from blending with the jacket color? Outlining the webgear? What color??

What sort of paints are you refering to? Acrylic or oils?

Well, I usually use acrylics. Sometimes, Humboldt enamals.

At this point in time, I'll try either.
