I like these Andy, the interaction is great and I love the little guy at the rear. Look around and people are vastly differing heights, not many sculptors show this. It's certainly a set I'd consider.

There is a risk with larger groups of figures, the price differentiation between one figure which might be purchased on impulse and a group of six figures which is a considered purchase is quite a lot - and of course, us modellers tend to be distracted by the next new thing :). But overall, I like this group. If I modelled aircraft I would certainly be very interested.

Have you thought of releasing them in your own range?

Andy, I showed these to a mate of mine at lunchtime today. As a plane modeller, he was knocked out - seems its what these guys are crying out for!
Ive had a couple of commercial knockbacks myself, but dont take it personally, its only an opinion!
Otherwise a cracking group of figures!

Andy,

These figures are definitely a cut above others you have done in the past. They look more completely modeled and fully realized. And, as others have pointed out: your stuff always has a touch of life and character to them. I only wish mine did in the same way.....

BTW, for those suggesting these fellows as a B-17 crew, you need at least four more figures for that. The B-17 carried ten crew members.

Keep up the good work!

Mike

Having painted at least 9 (at last count) Ultracast aircrew sculpted by you, Mike, "methinks thou doth protest too much"; your work is beautifully articulated and consistently a joy to paint up - I only wish my painting did more justice to the sculpting!

If Andy releases these, two sets with some judicious head swapping and minor conversion could easily produce a B-17 or B-24 crew. I wouldn't be building the new 1/32 HK Models B-17 G kit to go with it, though - why spoil such a great vignette with the distraction of a big-ass plane in the background :)!

Cheers,
Brian

Absolutely.....ask any aircraft modeller what is missing from the airplane kits is maybe a set of ground crew mechanics or a decent figure to put in a setting with a plane especially in 1/24 .....

Andy, you difentley need to finish and market theses set. I have watched your work for some time and you improve with each figure you complete. This would go well with any of the recent released 1/32 aircrat that modlers are stumbling over to purchase. This set, as well as your others you have competed in the 1.32 wing series are very needed and will greatly appreicated. I for one will purchase a set if they become available. You did good, Andy!

Wow, Guys Thanks,I had,nt expected such a response. It was tough day yesterday(mentally spreaking).Chin up and carry on as they say.
I will release these kits under the acmodels brand but will out source the casting this time.As its been an international project it might as well stay that way.
Cheers

Hi Andy,

I totally agree with everything that's been said, a totally cracking group of masterfully sculpted figures!

All the best,
Jon.

These look fantastic to me don`t let the b/////ds grind you down.keep up this good work:D

Ok,Guys.I will release this set as a team including a base. That is the group can be modelled without necessarily a plane behind them. The group tells its own story as it is.
As for risk Tommy,if I didnt take a risk with any modelling venture.I wouldnt get anything done!(smiley face). The cost of these six figures could be around the price of a bigger scale figure or bust say so its all relative.Anyone buying one of the massive 1/32 aircraft can surely afford a crew to accompany it.
I wont know until I try.
Cheers
Andy

Thanks Guys,Jon ,how are those germans coming on.
Andy
Andy, I'm in a little bit of a hole as far as sculpting is going, just can't seem to finish anything. That German group you saw is being held up by my lack of faith, an inability to sculpt realistic boot laces, and the photo etch for collar patches and such like. On a plus note I have finally worked out how to create photoetch from photographs, so hope to have that sorted soon.

I'm determind to have the group cast up for the new year (mind you I said that last year!).

All the best Andy, keep 'em coming!
Jon.
