Using Nimix brass etch heraldry...

Hey there, I'm terrible at free hand so I picked up some brass etch heraldry sets from Nimix. The instructions say to use a little putty to attach the thing. I was wondering what kind of putty to use. My modeling skills are still growing... Do I use a small amount of an epoxy like Miliput or a paste type putty like the squadron green?

Any advice is appreciated.

Never used this particular set, but to attach photo etch to anything I'd suggest to use superglue (gell type to fill the edges and give you some time to shift the detail to the right position) or two component epoxy glue (same advantages).
You could try putty but I doubt whether it will bond very well.
