Greetings
I thought I would make a start on the 'V' Bust Drummer 4th (Royal Irish ) Dragoon Guards 1884.
1/9th Scale Original Sculpt by Pavol ( Offo) Ovecka.
Re worked by Tommi Worton.
Drum Decal by Steve (Valiant) Leadley.
The V Bust is available as the Bust alone or
The V Bust along with the Kettle Drum Base The Decal for the Banner is an optional Extra.

Thanks for looking

Hi Mick

Nice to see this being done and with the T and S team ...can't go wrong.

Like the way Steve did the decal ....be nice if a SBS on how he worked it could be added into this V bench ......

Looking at the sharpness on the decal to hand paint you would have to be very talented for detail work or just silly not to try it ...now I wonder which I am..lol

Following with interest

Thanks Kev,
Yes the Decal came out really well. I have to admit its the first time I have ever tried applying a decal and I had to have two cracks at it. plus it is a bit bigger than the average truck and plane decal., but I think it has come out ok.
I did think I would try my hand at free hand as this one is the easier of the three but after seeing the quality of the decal and how it turned out the Bust with the Drums will have decals.
I will take my hat off to those that do go free hand especially the double banners trying to get them the same.:nailbiting:.

An SBS by steve would be great will have to twist his arm
Thanks
Mick

Superb transfer - I'm currently painting my Coldstream Guards Colour - there are 44 battle honours per side plus sphinx and regimental badge, and I could have done with a suitable set of transfers!

The decal looks terrific Mick. Started prep work on mine, but moving slowly because I want to finish a couple of figs that are in progress. I also think mounting him on the kettledrum is a great idea.

I say chaps this looks rather tickety boo.Really nice work from.all of you.The bust looks great as a V.bust.The decal looks very eyecatching.Really nicely done by Steve.Must try doing one of my busts as a v.bust.
Nice one gang.

Kev - the principle of producing the decal is fairly straightforward, but much of it relies on the individual being able to use graphics software like Photoshop, Illustrator or similar - I learned it for my job, a way back - It's a very specific skill/application. It is unlikely that most people will have access to these types of graphics software, unless it is something you use for your job, so an SBS with screen shots of software commands, etc may well not mean anything to some people.

I'm not trying to paint it as some kind of "Dark Art" - I just dont think it would translate welll as an SBS!!

Steve,

Thanks chaps for your kind words and assistance you have given to this Bust
For those that have it ( or parts :D) I hope you enjoy.
Mick

Greetings,
On thing to point out on this V Bust.
As the Sword belt is not on show at the side the Plume can be painted White post 1885. as the later pattern sword belt is not visible.
