Hello Folks

This is the second release of a series of 1/9 resin busts, sculpted for MMM by Pavol Ovecka, depicting highly decorated individuals of WW2. This set is comprised of Victoria Cross holders from the RAF, Royal Navy and British Army. The individuals are;
1. James Nicholson (RAF)
2. Malcolm Wanklyn (Royal Navy)
3. George Mitchell (Army, Gordon Highlanders)

The set of 3 busts is being made available to PF members at an introductory price of £60.00 for all three busts. Each bust in the set is supplied with a representation of the VC which can be added to a plinth.

The busts are available individually or as a set in two alternatives;
Bust supplied with medal only = £25.00
Set of 3 busts with medals = £60.00
All prices include international shipping.
The busts are not available on the website yet and should anyone be interested in taking advantage of this offer then please contact [email protected] or call 07921568313 to place an order.
I have included pics of the busts mounted on the resin plinth and placed a 120mm figure to illustrate the size of the busts.

Cheers
Ross

Very nice! I actually have the Robert Taylor print depicting Nicolson's VC action signed by the artist and one Nicolson's squadron mates. I see that the Red Lancer carries your figures; I'll check with him for availability. Share the wealth and all that...

Cheers,

Glen

Hi Guys ,

We have all seen some of these releases being worked on by PF members ...and really good they look I must admit .

Great idea from MMM and the sculptor to include the VC option (looks really accurate) etc

For me the stand out one is George Mitchell ..but all are so very accurate in sculpting and great subjects

Will we see any others as we have UK/US/GERMANY......hopefully we will see FRANCE maybe ...

Thanks for sharing

Nap, thanks for commenting, there will be a further 6 figures released for this range. The next will be 3 Medal of Honor holders and after that 3 heroes of the soviet union which are currently being sculpted by Pavol Ovecka. Hope you enjoy

Hi Friends, I am very glad to see them like this. The guys from MMM doing a great job in casting. It will be a unique series heroes. 9 is already finished and 3 are currently under construction.
Therefore, at least 12 prominent figures from WWII can be ordered only by the MMM!
I'm glad you like it, every single person that I played had a different destiny and character. Each was worth it to be depicted. There are many other heroes, but this was my choice.
Have a nice painting all members of the PF.
Stay with us soon introduce heroes CCCP.
Palo:)

For France it will be hard, the highest ordr is "Légion d'Honneur", and for WWII a lot of men won it, perhaps 3 soldiers how were "Compagon de la Libération" will be a good choice.

Only 1038 persons were "Compagnon" as my Grand Uncle, Lieutenant in the 1 RSM (Régiment de Spahi Marocain), but he is not famous.
You can choice :
Pierre Clostermann, first French Ace in WWII

Also Général Leclerc ( Philippe de hautecloque) chief of the 2° DB

And for the Navy, Phlippe Kieffer, Free French Commando, (1er Batallion de Fusiliers Marins commandos), incorporated in the British 4th Commando of the special force brigade how landed in Normady the 6th of june at sod beach. Only 177 Free French, and only commandos landed the 6.

But you may choose others, like :
Dimitri Amilakvari, of the French Legion, died in 1942

Raoul Charles Magrin-Vernerey, better known under the pseudonym Ralph Monclar captain at the end of the First World War, Commander of the 13th DBLE he landed at Narvik in 1940, only French victory in this sad year. Joined de Gaulle and Free France from the beginning. Became General during World War II in the Free French forces.

In 1950, General of the Army Corps, on the eve of his retirement, he volunteered to lead the French battalion of the United Nations in training for the Korean War and its stars against the exchange gallons of lieutenant colonel .

So actually, if you look closely, there is still some ideas for busts of French soldiers of the Second World War
