Here is my offering of a British/Allied WW1 120mm stretcher party and casualty. The leading man is a sergeant with the ribbons of the Queen's S.Africa Medal, King's S.Africa Medal and Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. He has two long service chevrons on his left sleeve above a wound stripe. The rear man is a private with just his red cross badges. The casualty is a cavalryman, minus obvious wounds apart from a scratch on his cheek. Head and concussion wounds were common, and the cavalry fought in the trenches as well as on horseback. A pair of helmetted heads is also available.

Happy modelling.

Neat backgrounder Mike & would expect no less from your knowledge in this area.

One hiccup seems photos are upside down on my screens so makes it hard to appreciate the detail.

Also do you provide painted up sets or kits?

Thanks for sharing & appreciate your help In learning about those that were part of this era.

Stay safe

Mike

Thank you for your kind comments. I can't help them being upside down (they're not so on my screen). Must be something to do with you being 'down under' (or perhaps because my parents were Aussies!).

The kit will be available from Victory Miniatures in the very near future.

Did sergeants wear good conduct stripes at this time? I always thought it was a given that if you were a sergeant you had good conduct.

Martin

Once promoted we didn't wear good conduct stripes. So from lance cpl and up you had no idea of length of service until the long service medal was issued .

At the vignette bothers me something: The "wounded"! He does not even have a crack in his uniform, let alone any visible injury! But maybe he just got sick...

Just my 2 cents...

Cheers
