I remember seeing this giant at a MM Magazine,breathless about the detailling,the painting of course and ………..the price:cry:..... out of reach at that times for a little electrician……...now I have the version as Garde d´honeur 1814;).

Always had a soft spot for this regiment, don't know why. Maybe it was the very individual uniform and it's relatively short life, formed to combat the raiding tactics of Russian Cossacks. This is a great rendition.
 
Excellent rendition, Ivo,....this was always one of my Detaille favourites. I read some time back that a museum in Australia has the original picture. and that it is deteriorating . Hope they can do some restoration on it before it gets too bad.
