is the moment of the brushes... after a long time I've been back to paint... another project in the shelf is finished

What an absolute pleasure flicking through this thread - really inspirational. I’ve been searching through the dictionary to try and find a superlative that hasn’t (deservedly) been used - there isn’t one. How long would you typically spend on a mounted figure project Ivo?

Hi Ivo

Really good to see your conversions , so natural a pose , even unpainted he’s got so much character

Look forward to seeing this painted up

Thanks for sharing the updates

Looking forward to seeing more

finally the kettledrum is finished ... this is not the time when I can appreciate my work ...

When I am close to finishing the figure I hate it and can't see anything but the flaws. I have to force myself to finish it if I don't want it to remain on the shelf for a long time.

I think that goes for any artist making any kind of work; there’s always a slight disappointment at the end because it’s not *quite* the perfect vision you had at the beginning. C’est la vie. :) That is *still* a stunning figure Ivo and I find the ‘faults’ (which nobody else can see) dry out after a while anyway. :)

The modeller/artist is his or her own worst critics, I found I can live with the imperfections I see by getting straight on with the next project and I soon forget or lose interest in was bugging me. Though I often end up rushing the last bits which isn't a good habit.

Cheers Simon

Agree there ...sometimes it’s knowing “when” to stop...we are our worst critics!

Ivo ...a pleasure to see both the build and to see it painted up to the high standard , a striking uniform for sure and a very well painted horse as well

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more from your bench

Have fun
