Hello

RPmodels presents another release... This time we will focus on the battle of Stamford Bridge, where a Viking fought the Saxon Army on October 14, 1066. According to the Viking sagas, the story is known, but the name of the warrior is unknown.

This warrior sacrificed himself to allow King Harald Hardrada's army to withdraw, only to be defeated a few days later. An epic story, whose hero's name was lost in time... But the sagas didn't let his deeds and acts die... And RPmodels helped remember this story...

Superb, especially the texture of the various materials. I hope a full figure will be available in the larger scales.

Hello Mr. Steve

Once again I would like to express my gratitude for your words. It’s a amazing history and when I saw it I was immediately surprise… We try to find out the name in the Nordic sagas but there aren’t any reference to the name… it’s a unknown hero… Like many people that in recent past give the best they have and can in some parts of the world, fighting against oppression and tyranny…

Again… Thank you for the comment.

With best regards

Hi Hugo and Nuno!

Superb and one of your best figures yet. I will be getting this (figure) from SK MINS when he gets them in stock.

Question - will there be a different helmet option? I ask as every Viking figure these days seems to have the 'spectacles' type helmet which if I understand correctly, was normally a feature of helmets for very high born or status Vikings. I will stand corrected on this by those with a more informed knowledge of the Vikings.

As such, I think it unlikely the 'forlorn hope' volunteer left to sacrifice himself in this way would be from that class and I think the man defending the bridge was also said by the sagas to be a 'Berserker'; again, not normally including amongst their ranks the high born within that society. As you say however, his identity if not his exploit is lost to history so who knows. Perhaps a more modest and 'normal' conical and nasal guard helmet (as an alternative option) may increase the potential for this wonderful figure?

Also for the base, will it come with a small section of the wood bridge structure?...sorry that's two questions.

Either way - tremendous and a must buy for me!

Best regards as always.

Hello Mr. Gary

Thank you so much for your comments...

Im very happy because you liked... Steve will have it... Please talk with him...

It's just this option. The eyes protection will out for you can paint the eyes and face without any stress... But We just did one helmet option... We dont think in do other options... My apologies for dont considered that idea...

There are 2 different sagas... I read was a berserker and other dont talk nothing about it. So we decide do the sculpt in this way. The information its very soft. there are some histpricals said this never happens. Its difficult to say... and this history its lost in time... I believe in this history and for me it's a symbol of courage, strength and honor. In war sometimes we do incrivel things... And most of them with reaction... Not with racional behavior...

The base you have a little piece of terrain... Its the beginning of the bridge... Its sand and rock... He is running to the middle of the bridge to stop the Saxon Army.

Thank you so much.
With best regards
