Hi all,

My first post here.

Is Verlinden Productions still selling their VP epoxy putty? I couldn't find it on the VLS site.
I used this great, pale khaki color putty many years ago to sculpt figures and liked its somewhat "waxy" properties, despite its short shelf life.
If someone can indicate me similar putty with the same characteristics it will be greatly appreciated.
I have heard a lot about Magic-Sculpt but not sure if it will perform the same like the good old VP stuff.

Regards,
Carlos

Thanks Guy, but couldn't find it on Verlinden site either.
Maybe the VP putty is out of production, I fear.

I think that VP putty was repackaged A&B putty. Chuck from Red Lancers will probably have it. I prefer Magic-Sculpt or Aves Apoxy-Sculpt personally. A&B is very hard when set and difficult to sand and carve.

I got mine from CRM in St. Louis a while back. I think Mike is carrying at The Hussar these days though.

Thanks John,

Just one (dumb) question:
Is there any difference between "A+B putty" and "A&B putty" or they are the same thing? I have read both names and can't figure out which is the correct or the best one.
Red Lancers have it as "A+B putty" (by the way, this is how Bill Horan calls it); but I found "A&B putty" also, after a Goggle search.
Now I am puzzled...

Cheers,
Carlos

What Red Lancers lists is the stuff you're after. It's actually made by Biggs I think, but has always been referred to as A&B or A+B. Chuck sells a couple of others too, like Epoxy-Bond. All of these puttys available have different qualities.

There are at least two brands that have an A&B putty. In the US there is Polymerics A&B. They took over production from another company (forgot the name) and that putty has been used by sculptors for a long time. Is this the A&B you are refering to? What company is stated on your A&B?
It's available here http://www.jeffvalentstudios.com/pnuke/ind...&pid=4&offset=0

Then there is the Sylmasta A&B made in the UK. http://www.sylmasta.com/acatalog/Online_Ca...Putties_23.html I only know the later. In my experience it's less sticky than Milliput and cures harder.

Bye, Ming-Hua

Thank you for the links, Ming-Hua.

I never used these epoxy brands before as the one I get here in Brazil is different.
Not bad, but I will try the A&B stuff also.

Best regards,
Carlos
