It seems that the Napoleonic bug has bitten me, stretching my preferred time period by about another 50 years or so, oh well I did try to resist.

Any how I intend to convert another Historex body into something completely different;

A bit adventurous but a good challenge and an escape from the red and blue colour scheme.

So far I have just put the 'Dolly' figure together so work can start in due course.

Melanie, Victor, Malc, Kev and Daniel, cheers for looking in, I do like the Napoleonic period but I was trying to be restrained by narrowing my period of interest, yeah failed that one. Trouble is there is just far too much choice but plenty that rarely gets modelled. He will have legs Kev, I mean a bust in 54mm, that would look ridiculous. This is the joy of Historex they are just so adaptable.

Hmmm...well, if you mention there are planty of uniforms that are not represented out there I can send you some suggestions .
Many beautiful uniforms of the Napoleonic era but in South America and colonies ;-)

Cheers Brad, I have thousands of inspiring illustrations in my Pintrest account, just don't have enough time to even skim the surface. I tried to stay away from Napoleonics simply because there is so much choice!

Agreed that the South American nations offer a huge range of choice from different time periods, I would love to dig into the wars of Simon Bolivar at some stage. This is why I tried to stick to Victorian era British and Empire, a huge wealth of uniforms but slightly more manageable than the whole world between the French Revolution and WWI.

That is great Kev I shall study it at length, I have it book marked to save me wasting half an hour looking for it when I need it!

Going to pop over to Guildford and visit Andy D on Wednesday, see how the old bugger is doing.

Cheers Simon

Please give my best wishes to the best looking member of Aldershot club ( except you .....of course )......tell him he owes me a coffee...again!..lol

Ha ha, yeah will do, it will be good when we finally get him back, though in the mean time it gives everyone's ears a rest!

First steps with this fella, I gave reinstated some creasing on his breeches though more refinement is required and I made a start on the helmet with the front and rear peaks and some bulk on top of his head. Small steps for now.
