What is going on here?!

What has happened to Planet FIgure. Ever since the maintenence the other weekend, I am having huge problems with this site. Ages to load, missing pictures, half the 'smilies' gone and adverts all over the place for women and light sabres!!!
It takes ages to post anything, and I keep getting error messages.
Everything was fine until after the maintenance, and I have no problems at all with any other sites.
Can somebody please explain.

You don't have to see which' ladies living only 2.4 miles from you at this minute and desperate to see you' when you're logged in!
Those ads will not appear when you're logged in if you turn them off with the ad choices option.

Well, personally I find the loss of the "this comment, although seeming to confirm my utter stupidity should actually on closer inspection appear quite banal" smiley the most difficult adjustment I've had to make.....But it's also very hard to continue posting comments without having at hand the popular " please don't take this the wrong way but you seem to have the IQ of a wallpaper sample " smiley as well......I used to like that one...

If you want to skip the ads, the easiest way is to become a supporter. Its a nominal annual amount for a great site. Probably about 1/3 of what my local hobby club charges for about 8 meetings a year and 100 X more vaulable. Karlos - I don't suppose anyone is coming close to making any money running this site.

Oh perhaps as Colin says that's why I don't have any ads when logged in, because of the supporter thing, I thought it was because of an option through adchoices.It may have occurred around the same time which is why I saw the connection.

And one other change which happened to me after the recent brief shutdown was that the supporter payment for pF which was previously fixed as an annual automatic payment was discontinued as an automatic annual direct debit.

Correct Mark - one of the 'tangible' benefits of becoming a supporter is no ads - I miss the laydeees. You have to re-up annually so there is no auto renewal now.
