Just got back from a fantastic day at the White Rose Bash. what can I say it was one of the best so far. with lots of new faces all going home very happy and with full bellies and empty wallets :D.

The standard of entry was again very high indeed we had just 300 models in the comp. which I know some of the guys will be posting on here.

I would just like to thank everyone involved the work that was put in was well worth it. Keith & Gary you did a great job on the auction. the kitchen staff were rushed off their feet. us four traders did very brisk trade(y)

Glad you could make it Frank & Roger I hope you both went away full of ideas and thanks to all the other new people that came from far and wide to make the show what it was.

a big thank you to the guys who stayed behind to help Me and Richard clear the Hall.

Cheers guys

Hi Nap you will have to come up for the weekend next year. the show does get better and everyone enjoys the day. Lots of photos were taken so someone will post on her and FB in due course. have to say it was great fun. and some very worthy winners.

I think Roger was blown away with the standard of the flats that were in the comp. it was great to see his work up close he did a hell of a job on them. and his collection of Greek troops were great.

Cheers

staff for there work, and yes I was one who went home with an empty wallet, reduced my wanted list
a little.

A great big thank you to everyone at The White Rose Club, I had a fantastic day.
I wasn't only blown away by the flats, every figure and model on display was to such a high standard but what was the highpoint was the friendly atmosphere of people enjoying a good day out.

I have some photo's that I need to sort through and edit a bit but I'll post this one now, I showed my wife it and her reaction was "Don't even think about it." :ROFLMAO:

Her argument to that would be I've already got enough to keep me happy for hours. :D
The proof of today being a success was looking around a room full of people smiling and genuinly looking as if they were enjoying themselves.
Really pleased you liked the Prussian.

To ALL involved in running the Bash, Many many thanks. The display theme of Native Americans was superb and the best of show just blew me away. Once again many thanks for a superb day out. Here's to the next one!

Well what did you sneak past the door then Chris ?

Nap

I got the French Bombardier and the 17th Light Dragoon form Ellie's Miniatures
and Youngs Sean Connery lookalike Knight Templar plus a paint set.
Good thing about figure modelling wear a coat with big pockets and pass her indoors with empty hands,
' not much there love' works a treat

Love the annual WR Xmas bash. One of the highlights of my modelling year. To say it's just a "small" regional club show, the standard of the work on display is phenomenal. Everything from "very good club standard" to "as good as anything you'll see at any major show". Quality across the board.

Also probably the most "democratic" show on the circuit. No Bronze, Silver & Gold medals, but every attendee is a judge, gets a voting slip and picks what they think is the "Best" piece in several categories and the one with the most votes wins that particular category. The system couldn't be simpler. Except that year on year it actually gets harder to pick a winner because the standard is so good!

Well done again and thanks to Ian and the rest of the WR team. It gets bigger and better every year.

For a long time now, I've advocated this kind of voting system. A 'People's Choice Award'
Let's face it, the average punter at these shows is a fair judge, know what they like, and I reckon can be relied upon to do a good job.
