Hi All,
Had a wonderful day out again at the White Rose, a big thank to all the lads down there for putting on another stunning show.
Talking about stunning there was some outstanding stuff on the tables. Apologies if the photo's don't do them justice.
Great to meet up with everyone and have a chat, especially Matt who I have not crossed paths with for a couple of years. A special shout out to the catering staff who provide everyone with a 5***** service.

Also to Nick & Paul a.k.a. "The Chuckle Brothers" for the running the very amusing auction, top job boys. Lots of bargains were available including some built and painted pieces which were generously donated.
I picked up one called Missing Humanoid 757...Found Life Extinct In Sector 17. Sorry I do not know who done it may be someone will chip in. It now sits proudly in my display cabinet. Just loved it.

Well supported by the traders Gordon and Tommi RDG, Steve K, Adrian, Bash Models, Richard, Oakwood Bases and John, Hawk Miniatures.
I have to say the 300mm figures that Tommi and Gordon are producing are just stunning, you really have to see them in the flesh to appreciate them to their maximum.

Well done to all the winners who were chosen by their fellow modellers. Yes everyone gets a vote.

I put a small display on too.;)

I don't know if everyone is aware, but you do not have to be a member of the White Rose to attend. Just turn up, display your work and have a great time with like minded people.
There is a particular nice shot of three robbers dog's:rolleyes::LOL:.
cheers
Richie

What an absolutely fantastic collection of photos and thanks Richie for taking the time to post these up. Yesterday was an absolutely brilliant day out and some of these photos don't do justice to some of the tremendous work that was exhibited. Some of the stuff had to be seen in the flesh ( resin, plastic or metal actually!) to be believed.

A big thanks to everyone in my club who made the effort to make it such a success and to all those who attended and kindly displayed their art and shared it with us all.

I look forward to seeing you all again in the new year.

Gary

I love your display and thank you for posting the pictures, Richie. It looks like there was a lot of very impressive work on display. The Royal Navy Press Gang vignette is very nice and must have done well?

Hi Scott,
Thank you mate, I tried to make a good effort on the display, taking weapons, cap badges, bullet artefacts from actual battlegrounds, my vintage Union Jack, original artworks, finished and greyscale models.

The Press Gang was impressive, I wish I had taken a close up of it, but I don't like leaning over the tables if they are too far back. To be honest I don't know if it won an award or not actually on the day.
The stardard of painted pieces was most impressive, some outstanding Military and Fantasy stuff.
cheers

Hi Wayne,
We are luckier than most countries to have so many shows which encompasses a broad range of genres. Toy Soldiers, War Gaming, IPMS (Tanks, Planes, Space), Military, Fantasy ect.
cheers
Richie

This was displayed by Ben Curry and was well admired, as it should have been. It didn't win an award on the day as the main philosophy of the day day is being there putting on a display of work and most importantly having a really good time.
There is an award given to the most popular entry in each category. Everyone votes for their own favourite piece and these are all tallied up to select the winner. In all the time we have run this system there has never being a winner that is not deserving of being so. As The Bash gets more and more top artists every year the winning of the single award gets harder and harder, but nobody leaves upset or dejected, as the day is built around a strong social theme, or think of it as a Christmas Party with ONLY like-minded people there.

Ben did win the best Bust on display, but the vignette was won by a scratchbuilt depiction of scenario of the Uruguayan Rugby Team plane crash in the Andes in the 1970s by Mark Haywood
