They came to Largs in Scotland for the day but did,nt stay long enough to pick up any tartan though a lot of them stayed permantly in 6 feet of Scottish earth
Hi all had a great reply from Dr Jody Joy at the museum, there is no evidence either way as to if Vikings had tartan, none has been found in any graves but that doesn't mean that they didn't as many areas of Britain had tartan and Vikings were great traders as well as raiders. Surprisingly enough there has been tartan cloth found in Roman graves in Britain, that could have been a Roman or a local that had taken on Roman ways, doesn't clear this up but it leaves room for scope
Hi all bit more time at the bench seeing as we are flooded in, started on the bottom part of the leather jerkin, finished the left sleeve apart from the pattern and the left inside of the bearskin,
Cheers Helm havnt seen that before, I'm just wondering how that will look on scale painting though, heres one of Pegaso figures that show dark to black creases
I first noticed it on my bike jacket the way the red quilted lining was black where it rubbed but the creases not coming into contact with anything were still bright red as new

I like the way you've managed to change the shades and highlights in mid paint.
It looks very effective.
Good suggestion from Steve (I'll have to keep that in mind for the future).
