Hello to All,

As a long-time armour modeller who is new to figure painting, I though I should post my first efforts here...I hope to gain some knowledge.
This is the first of 3 figures I'm painting at the moment - purely to get some practice and understanding of figure painting. It is the Knight Models 70mm Bane. I'm using Andrea acrylics thinned with distilled water. (70mm seemed like a logical size to practice)
At the moment, the head and boots are only in under-paint - the rest I've been working up over the last couple of weeks.
All comments, suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated...
Adam

I don't think you'll have much trouble Adam moving from armour to figures, this piece looks very well done,I like the flesh painting and you've brought out the muscle tones very well, great work,I look forward to seeing the other 2 figures as well

Hi Adam
I agree with Smudger , you won't have any problem with transition to figures from armour , your blending and use of colour looks bang on love the flesh tones and the blue trousers .
Look forward to seeing more of your work
Cheers Chris

Very well painted indeed. I find it hard to believe that is a "first attempt" though.

I am amazed that this is your first work with figures. I'm amazed, but I'm sick as well. I've been trying to paint figures for over 8 years and nothing I've painted comes close to what you are showing here...and you say it's not finished? My finished work doesn't look as good. I hope you post the rest of your work. I look forward to seeing it. I've already saved it to my iPad so I can study it and show it to my other figure friends. Keep up the great work.

Thanks to all for your very kind comments. This is indeed my first figure, though I have been modelling since I can remember ( a long time... )
I've never really delved into figure painting as it always intimidated me a bit. I do believe that it is an art-form wholly different to aircraft or armour modelling.
Now that I have begun painting figures, I have renewed respect for those who post here - this is difficult stuff !!
I especially like reading posts relating to blending, and types of paint preferred. I think blending with acrylics is quite a challenge - this is my priority at them moment.
I'll look at using a wet palette, sooner rather than later....
Thanks again for the feedback.
Adam

Great figure Adam, especially considering it is your first.

I know your armor models, which are a great inspiration... I think you achieved the similar feat with this figure. Well done!

Mario

Thanks Mario & Jeff,
I've got a lot of learning to do with figure painting. Its a part of my modelling I've been wanting to improve for a long time.
Got a couple more Knight Models figures, plus a Pegaso on the bench soon...
Cheers,
Adam
