Faded and weathered like the rest and it will look great. I suppose at some point even salty old dogs like this had a clean item of clothing, but it wouldn't look right!

Cheers Simon

Can you believe it took me two and a half hours to build up the basecoat.
I'm hoping to make a start on toning it down tomorrow, I think it'll take
a couple of sessions to get it where I want it.
As you say it wouldn't look right it looked new.

Sometimes the paint just doesn't want to co-operate which is very frustrating. Looking forward to seeing you do your magic on it.

Being tardy, as of late, I've missed the last few updates, but wow, pretty dang sweet, Malc! This is turning out to be a hum-dinger, as they say!

Ruck Onward, Malc!
Cheers, Steve, I'm not happy with the coat, so I'm going to make some slight changes to the colour scheme.

The base of the coat is excellent, I really like this choice of color. Once patinated, worn, it will be just perfect.
Cheers Bran.

My apologies for taking a while to reply, unfortunately I've been unwell and just getting back on my feet now.

Although I did like the colour initially, and I appreciate your faith in me to tone and weather it down.
But after careful consideration I opted for a slightly different shade of grey.

Fingers crossed I can post a progress report soon.

Thanks Daniel, I'm feeling a lot better now, and I have managed to get some more painting done.
Just off to the bench now, so hopefully I'll be able to make a progress report later.

Progress is still slow despite feeling a lot better.
I've been concentrating on the cuffs of the coat, and to be honest, they were a bit of a bugger,
for me anyway. The left arm needed to be done before fitting, which you can see done.
A little filler required, which is being left to dry before going any further.

Your new shade of gray works well Malc, but I have to admit that the blue tone of the first version seemed like the right choice to me. I trust you, you are the one who has the piece in hand and you are the artist who presents your vision of the character. Either way, I am sure that in the end I will absolutely not be disappointed by your work!! 👍
