Awesome face & beard!! I'm not sure if I mind the tunic all that much, is it just the color you don't like? Maybe more extreme highlites would make it more to your liking?

I quite like what you have here Brian! I just ordered this bust myself, you make me itch to get started as soon as it arrives!

Hi Brian,

Lovely work as always...Is it the colour clash between the tunic and headband...but isn't that de rigueur for a Landsknect?
Like the idea of the heraldry on the tunic,
Keith

I am assuming its the colour combination you are not quite happy with as the standard and quality of the painting is very nice, the face is superb as is the beard.
My initial two second response was that the green headband and red tunic clash, maybe change the headband colour rather than the tunic to see what works as it less to change, maybe a yellow or blue, maybe match the headband colour with the slits in the tunic
Best bet would be to open the image in Microsoft paint etc and drop in some colour to get an idea before commiting to the brush.

This isnt to say you havent done an exellent job already as i like the bust.

Nice bust in everyway, very well painted but I disagree with a tunic colour change, I think to leave it would be best mate. RobH.(y)

Thanks guys for all your feedback. The reason i'm not happy with the tunic is that when i dried the oils to get a matt finish i lost most of the contrast as usual and started painting wet on dry .As i don't have the patience i used to have (old age) i got a bit sloppy hence the reason it's not turning out so well so he'll be getting another undercoat but i'll put him to one side as i'm bored looking at him.
