Hey, all -

This is the La Meridiana Miniatures 200 mm (~1/9 scale) BFR-32 Lakota Chief bust. It's in-process; it presents a few challenges for me, but that's part of growing and advancing, eh? ;)

The base colors are laid in with Mission Models Paints (acrylics); the flesh is brought up with Abt 502 oil paints. The plan from here: Maybe tomorrow, after they cure a little more, I'll add the vertical white stripes to the face; then I'll spray clear acrylic satin overall.

When that dries for a day or two, I'll go back and add some light glaze highlights and shadows. The red crosses on the breast piece are a bit problematic when viewed up close, and the hair doesn't seem "strandy" enough in the sculpt. My paint of the hair also looks a bit shiny for my tastes (again, done in acrylic); it's supposed to be flat. I wonder if that has to do with maybe not enough stirring before application?

Anyway, all constructive criticism will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Me again! :sneaky:

Made some progress on the Lakota Chief (La Meridiana Miniatures, 200mm), but MAN, am I struggling with the striping and the beadwork!

I can tell right now that I'll have to go back and forth between the white and the base colors, until I get the balance right. Then I'll play with glazes for a bit more shading and highlights.

Other comments/suggestions?

Hi Russ

Agree with Bobs comments , coming along nicely

I think the beadwork etc will come out more after washes and rehighlighting

As for the facial stripes , would suggest lining in with much thinner paint , use a retarder , this will let you correct as you go rather than after when dry

I merged the threads for you

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime
