Hi again:

This time, I am posting a few work in progress shots of the Pegaso's 90 mm Samurai, that I picked up courtesy of the Medroom's contest a few months ago. As you can see the head is pretty much done, as well as the torso. The arms need attention and the lower body has only received a basecoat. Any helpfull comments or criticisms you might like to offer, this would be the time. Thanks in advance;

Glenn

Glen,
nicely done so far. The flesh tones look spot-on! You know what I like about this piece the most, call me crazy, but I think the sculpt does a great job of making this guy look genuinely Asian. I think some Asian pieces come off looking a bit too "caucasian" and this one just seems to have the right look to him. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic pose and ultimately a great looking piece. But he is a Samurai after all! ;)

Nice work, keep us posted!

Youre definately pulling a verynice job onthis piece my friend. Its a dificult figure with no doubt with many overlapping fields of paint areas. Soneeds much patience and discipline. And so far you re going pretty fine . Waiting for more progress. Then imaybeget motivated to start mine !!!

Thanks guys;

I'm especially pleased you like the face. I've really been trying to concentrate on getting the faces of my figures just right lately. Mind you, it's not so difficult when you have such fine sculpting to layer paint on, is it?
I would have to agree with you Jay, he definately looks Japanese, which was why I wanted to be sure and get the skin tones just right.

Thanks for your kind words Marc, I hope I can finish him up in a reasonable amount of time.

Costas, I certainly hope you can also find time to finish the Romeo Templar! I've already got mine finished except for the ground work! I can hardly wait for September 1 (actually I can wait; that's when school starts again and I have to be back at work teaching!) :(

I really want to do this figure. I have done Pegaso's 90mm archer and it has to be one of the best figures to be found!
As far as the model you are painting is concerned, I love the animation and there is so much freedom to paint something really interesting - I would love to see close-up photo's of the embroidery on the helmet etc.
Keep us posted on this one - it is looking very good!

Hi!

Well done so far.
And the face looks awesome!
I also like the red body armour so far, as all the other shaded colors, too.

Such a Samurai is something that also stands on my too long "to do"-list. :lol:

Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the finished figure.

Cheers

:eek: , awesome !! The samourai is a most difficult figure to paint, you are excellent! keep up the good work !!
