I first came across the story of Brad Kasal on the net while searching for pictures of US marine camouflage in Fallujah. I am sure everyone has now seen the famous picture of Brad Kasel being evacuated from an insurgent house. Interested by this story I did a bit more research and found a documentary on youtube (link below).
Inspired by his story and heroic acts I decided to scratch build the iconic picture. BUT 2 days later Airborne Miniatures released their own version in 1/35 scale - thank god, cos it would have taken me ages to scratch build.
Anyway after a few modifications and additions I started painting. The original model had the injured marine holding his hand gun with the hand on the trigger, however in the picture Brad Kasal shows TREMENDOUS trigger discipline under very difficult circumstances, something I believe should be portrayed correctly – therefore I corrected it. I have not made much progress as I have had heavy work obligations….also the US digital camouflage is scaring the crap out of me…it’s gonna be tough.
Hope that you like. Apologies for the pics they are not that good.

p.s this is a sensitive subject matter so apologies if anyone is offended.
