Another nice sculpt finished on the bench this morning. Flesh in oils, the rest is acrylic.

A pleasure to work on.

Hi Graham

Your certainly cracking on with Kens pieces

Nice work on the eyes and uniform colour quite like this piece

If I may thought the badges were brass ...but happy to be corrected

Always good to see your artwork

Why not support our new FOTM by entering something in the class of your choice

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to more

Happy benchtime

Thanks Nap. I used this image for reference as I suspect it is what Ken based the bust on. Possibly hand coloured B&W photo original so may not be accurate

Regarding the blending of acrylics as if they were oils, have you tried using Vallejo's Retarder Medium? I've just begun to fool around with it a little bit and it works great to keep the acrylics liquid enough to be blended (not unlike oils?) before they dry out too quickly.

Thanks Larsen. I currently use a Windsor & Newton retarder mainly as a thinner. Not really attempted wet blending in acrylic yet but I am testing things out as I go along. Just waiting for that Eureka moment when it all comes together and I become a master painter.......... not holding my breath but having lots of fun :D

Excellent work Graham........I like where you're going with the flats ( I call them reliefs). I also like the framed idea with a proper background. You may have found a niche....Keep up the good work.
