Hi, I've been lurking around the forums for a few weeks now.
I didn't want to say hi until I had at least something to show.
This is WWI British infantry man I've been working on for a couple of weeks now.
It's very much still a work in progress. There's a ton of more details I need to get in, plus correcting the shape of things and double checking on details.
I think the research took as much time as the modeling did.
And I still have more to do on the research side.
All the modeling was done in Zbrush 4r4 and Luxlogy Modo.
Most of the shapes were either made as a base mesh in Modo then brought into Zbrush and detailed.
Or made using Zbrush Dynamesh, Qremesher and then retoplpogized in Modo.
Then brought back into Zbrush and the details reprojected.
Most of the Enfield Rifle was done that way.
Posing was done on a base human model then the clothing and equipment was moved into place.
I tried using the Transpose master plugin in Zbrush but it kept warping all the details.
So I have to ended up doing it by hand.
I modeled it in a basic T-Pose so I could use symmetry and maybe bring it into Modo for rigging. At the moment everything has a UV map so at some point I can paint texture maps for it and do better renders.
At some point I'd like to get it printed out I still need to do some more research and find a good printing service.
Thanks,
mash
