Hi, I´m back with a figure I´ve finished a few months ago.
This is WWI German Stoßtruppen, 90 mm, by Andrea Miniatures.
The sculpture is supperb and the fitting is perfect. I´ve recreated a trench from a 1917 picture I´ve found on the web.
The structure was built with styrofoam, covered with earth from the garden and then I glued each individual twig, also from the garden, to form the wall cover. The sand sacks are actual cloth sacks, sewn and filled with sand and glued together to form the upper barricade of the trench. I hope you´ll like it!

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT! I really like to have feedback from experienced modellers, producers, sculptors, moderators.

Well done indeed!!!!.

Hi Felipe.

I think painting is great here. I see the contrasts, profileds... dirty likes my too. Will be more real with dirty at his hands too.
About the ground, a smaller base is enough to explain the history.
Execution of the structure and painting perfect for me.
The sandbags work very well.
The disposition of the trench is paralel to the base. Better put it a bit oblique to make it more interesant to the watcher.

Cheers

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Metal Extremo, thank you for the tips! I can see what you mean about the trench being too straight.

Dan Morton, my mother in law helped me with those!

Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Felipe.

Hi Felipe,

This is really a very nicely executed piece. I do notice that you have outlined the tunic buttons quite prominently when compared to the rest of your excellently weathered figure.

Beautiful work. Two little comments I am missing some red lines at the tunic. Please have a look at the attached photo. The trench is superb and the idea with the twigs very good. Perhaps the upper part of the trench is not high enough. If the soldiers is standing on the upper landing he had to stand in a really unsual position to shoot through the hole between the sand bags

Viktor, thank you for pointing out the outline problems. I'm always afraid of overdoing it and I tend to "stop before I do something stupid".

Ulrich, I hadn't noticed the wall hight before... My bad. I can't find the reference I used for the tunic now. But I think the neck was black lined and no red lines on the cuffs. I'm probably wrong... Must have tricked my eyes. Thank you for pointing these out.

Chris, thank you for your kind comment.

Thank you all for looking!

Cheers,

Felipe.

Hi Felipe,

Really like this one, nice facial painting (the rest also ;)) Things about the base size and such have allready been said. Like the idea of those sandbags, nice touch.

Cheers
