Thanks folks I'm pretty pleased with it as I say Grant's technique is a belter for leather effects of all kinds. I used my old jacket for a model Colin ;) again less the road rash down one arm :nailbiting:

Polly the Parrot (yeah I know it's a macaw) still got a bit of shading/layering to do but I'm quite happy with the colours etc, any advice especially welcome on this bit

Cracking job mate sorry about the pun
Cheers Chris

Del has come up with a good idea , I have only ever done a couple with the tattoo its a matter painting some flesh on a piece of resin and experimenting till you get the desired effect I have heard of people using those very fine tec drawing pens bit not to press to hard and do it very light ,
Cheers Chris

Cheers Del (y) I thought about that or as Carl suggests lay a flesh wash over it either might work better
Steve

That's another good idea Chris on the bright side I've touched in that splash of purple that I have no idea about how it got there

Hi, love what you are doing with Walter. Any further progress? I have got as far as giving him a new head and hat. The head is spare from the Young Miniatures Gladiator bust, I think it gives him a real air of menace.

It's on hold for the moment nearly done though, that conversion looks excellent (y) and as you say really changes the dynamic of the figure
Steve

Seriously, though, I love your progress, and well played handling the crazing or cracking in the finish.

Looking at the parrot, it occurred to me that you might want to try drybrushing a slightly different shade onto the tips of the feathers on his wings and back, if it's appropriate to the breed, of course. I've notice variations in the colors of birds' feathers like that. It might also look like the shimmer we see sometimes on a bird's feathers.

I look forward to your next installment!

Prost!
Brad
