Here's the latest - 54mm Buffalo Bill by Hornet. All painted in acrylics.

I felt the arm holding the hat looked too straight so bent it to a more natural angle and added a hatband/bow which was built up from paint! Drilled out both ends of the megaphone and the usual stuff. Although not really visible I had fun adding some bead-work to the shoulder
In my fevered little mind I pictured him as an ageing rockstar type figure hence the grey hair and wrinkles on the face. Since he was towards the autumn of his show career I gave him a nice soft earth show ring to perform in which was made from miliput and coffee grounds (I even nabbed a Historex horse leg to put in some hoof prints)

I liked the stars and stripes on the megaphone box art, but decided after a couple of aborted attempts that it was a pain to do so dug out an 'old' advert for a show with a decorative scroll and painted that on instead. The lettering reads 'WILD WEST SHOW' which rather alarmingly my daughter can read easily - definately the smallest bit of signwriting I've done:playful:

Hope you like it . . . now what's next on the to do list

I like these wild west figures by Roger Saunders, sadly some are unavailable.
lovely paintwork and not over done on the ground work. Excellent.

Regards
Bob

This is one of the most recognisable Roger Saunders figures, and you've done it really well.
I particularly like the megaphone and its readable banner (I'd go cross-eyed trying to do that at this scale).

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks folks - got another couple of this range still to do, but I'm saving them for the moment . .

(I'd go cross-eyed trying to do that at this scale).

:D yep that about sums it up Andrew, but it made me smile whilst I was doing it, and in a strange way it was quite theraputic

Cheers
Paul

Really like this Paul. Have always intended to get this figure and have a definite scene in mind.
Good idea to add the hat band and the beautifully painted megaphone works really well in this scheme.
Cheers
Derek

Cheers Derek (I'm hoping to add an Annie Oakley, from the same range, to this on a bigger base in the future, but who knows)

Buffalo Bill, one of the all time greats from the western times . I wasn't aware of the figure Paul ( I have 2 other versions in my grey army ) I like the way you have portrayed him , although a little dusting around the bottom of the boots might add to the arena feel .
chippy

Cheers John, glad you like it

Thanks Chippy - funnily enough the dusting (such as it is) doesn't show too well in the photo's, but is more apparent in the flesh. The trousers look a little glossy too I notice so they'll be getting a lick of matt varnish in the morning.

Cheers Guys.
These are great figures if you get the chance then snap 'em up. My biggest problem with this one was painting the eye nearest the raised arm.:censored:

I've a set of these but wonder if I'm still up to working at that scale now

Funny you should mention that Sippog; my eyesight is much worse than it was, but now I prefer these small figures . . a lot can be suggested or implied with paint that on a larger scale you need to paint.

ps to Del just won an Annie Oakley on Fleabay which should be winging its way down to me soon :p
