What about, show your own sculpt better than the one your bagging :)
Thanks for reminding me about that Evolution miniatures figure I like it but haven't got it..... yet

Interesting thread. Napoleon lost, yet there are far more French Napoleonic figures around than Allied ones. Hitler lost, yet there are far more Nazi/Wehrmacht/Luftwaffe/Kreigsmarine figures around than Allied ones, with the largest group of the latter available being American. RN & USN submariners were no less brave or successful than U-Boat commanders, but it is the latter that sell - cause and effect?

Gets tougher when talking about Clone Troopers :)

Just a thought...since this was kinda' announcing a new product, maybe Product Announcements (NEWS) should be just that. Basic announcements letting us know that the new product is available, perhaps including a few details and images. But the post/thread be locked. No comments at all. If you feel it warrants discussion then start one in the lounge or etc. In doing this, it's not defaming the company's product or announcement in any way and you have the option to read the discussion or not. It's no longer part of the announcement. Just a thought?
Trying to stay constructive for moving forward...

Interesting suggestion!

defaming the company's product

For a better understanding, first of all:

"Defamation" (from Latin: diffamare = spreading rumors) is today commonly referred to as slander and deliberate slander.

If legitimate criticism is already considered "defamation", then we should close the shop here!

As long as I inform you about news (and I do a lot!) I will also give my opinion.

And that is positive in 90 percent of the cases and negative in 10 percent of the cases. As a customer and consumer, I have absolutely no desire for a tennis ball to be sold to me as a watermelon!

Your suggestion, Steve, means either banning criticism (locking thread for comments) or hiding it somewhere else in the forum.
But in no case should it be there where the novelty itself is presented.

If this should actually be practice here, then I have been the longest time member! In a forum in "North Korean style" I do not like to cooperate anymore!

You guys would be a blast to watch TV with... Not another beer commercial, not another cell phone, I like this car better than that car, who needs another fast food restaurant, what's wrong with all the other PCs....yadda yadda... I can only imagine the debate between a News broadcast and a commercial advertisement....

Time to turn the channel or better yet....turn it off and do some modeling instead of bickering.
Back to the bench for me.

(All meant lighthearted. We need to remember this is a hobby.)

Ciao'

This discussion like many before is going in circles and the ideas brought up are not new looking at previous threads of that kind. I agree with Martin Rohmann that this forum should not entirely be restricted to free advertisement when we speak about new releases. On the other hand I once more do not see the need to announce a new release IN PLACE OF THE MANUFACTURER for the purpose to tell what you do not like about it. Especially if the critique is not based on any anatomical, historical or other errors but just on your personal preferences within this hobby. IMHO this lacks fairness against the producer and is a sort of arrogant feedback that does not help the producer or future customers. Hobby related feedback is different from that and is an important part of this forum.
Cheers, Martin
