Damn, this bust looks awesome.

I guess no one can make "the same face" comment on this one.
Way to go!

Wow a great sculpt and what an evocative paint job....look at the eyes.
Suspect we'll be seeing some cracking renditions of this in competitions
Cheers

Haha! Young has gone past the "same face" phase a long long time ago

What more can I say? Young's the best, consistently the best.

I really really hope Young would for once turn his attention to the Soviet soldiers. Snipers with or without hood (say with Jude Law's likeness), tank crew (a variety of helmets to pick for Young or just a bare head), these are subjects ripe for realisation. And who better than Young and comrades to bring their heroic, handsome images to life?

Going east is bound to push Young Miniatures to a new peak. I hope my prayers are answered...

(UK subjects are good too actually)

I'm sorry if my comment is out of place, but this face looks like a death man, the technique is superb but the colors are too green for a human in life...

Wasn't that Russian Tanker bust from MIG some years ago
sculpted by Young B Song?

Mut have

Although I'm not a bust painter by far thi is truly a "must have" for me. Superb sculpting as always with Young, but the painting is to me about the best I've seen. Very atmospheric, it really sets a mood!!! Love it all the way.

Cheers,

Gino

Outstanding sculpt and painting as usual, really a stunning piece of art!

Unintentionally or not, this bust reminds me of a Richard Thomas' portrayal of Paul Bäumer, character from the "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarqe!

Stunning work - have to have this one.
Watched the b/w version of All Quiet on the Western Front last week with Lew Ayres as Baumer, & I'd say this bust puts me in mind of a lot of the facial shots in that. Also there's a WW1 German propaganda poster showing a stormtrooper in all his kit (war bonds ad I think) & it reminds me a lot of that. Very atmospheric.
Cheers,

Absolutely correct Taesung. Admittedly an earlier sculpt from Young for MIG as you mentioned, before Young miniatures was around. He has come a long was since, but still a good piece. Someone with better history skills than I will have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this represents a post WWII figure, possibly Afganistan? Not sure. It can still be found, and shouldn't take too much effort to convert to WWII era if one would want.
