Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Looking good brother!

It turned out pretty well after all that work, I am sure Jason will enjoy the hell out of it!

Keep it up!

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Thanks Mike! I will treasure it! It turned out fantastic!! Much better than mine! Now I need one from Anders!! Maybe we should try doing a full figure this time! I have a few in mind. It looks really good bro. Now I just have to figure out how to get it from you!

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Hi Jason,

I'm happy that you're feeling well enough to get back on the forum. I'll try to get back up to Dallas sometime during the next two weeks. Failing that you can pick it up in Chicago.

No more busts for me for a while bro. Thanks for the challenge

Mike

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Nice job

Just a small point ,I dont know if this is true or not but an american friend of mine tells me that the stars and stripes is always the other way round on the arm IE the stars to the front to depict american soldiers always going forward into battle, worth checking I suppose, there are plenty of americans on this site so maybe someone will clarify.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for taking a look comment on the 82nd Airborne patch. The kit does indeed come with a 101st Airborne patch.

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Hi Richi,

Thanks for looking and commenting. This figure was a challenge to paint at times but it finally came together.

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the comments.

I have not been able to find any historical pictures that would suggest that the flag should be facing the other way. I may be incorrect but I'll leave the history to others.

Thanks for the feedback and I will continue to see if I can find historical pictures that would indicate that the US Flag should be facing the opposite direction.

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Not during WWII, the flag is correct the way it is.

However. For modern figures that have the flag patch on the right shoulder, helmet (SF) etc, the stars are always pointed forward.

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

nice work sir. The patches are painted to an excellent standard as is the rest. I really like how this guy turned out.

Re: Young Paratropper Bust

Hi Mike

Regards the flag

The comment was made not about your bust but another painters effort
last year ,the girl in question was in the US marines and into a bit of miniature
modeling, and she pointed that out right away, but it might be quite a modern thing. but the painting is very nice indeed.
