PS ...Just how long did the camo take ?

Hi Nap,
Cheers for the comments. The first stage took about an hour and a half, the stage below took about 2 and a half hours. Thank god he has a plain armoured vest. The Marpat takes forever and is tough on the old eyes.:inpain:

I'll apply the last stage tomorrow and give the whole camo a wash to hopefully bring it all together.

Wow this Marpat uniform is shaping up to be awesome, and as previously stated the face is great, a real 1000 yard stare there.

Hi gells,

latest pics really show the extraordinary detail you've put into the camo. I'm still blown away by the expression in the eyes. They just look so real and really sell the idea of an exhausetd battle weary grunt. Well done.

Third stage Marpat. Choclate brown with deck tan.
I started painting his helmet really fine pixels and whilst it looked ok under the otivisor it looked like sloppy painting to the naked eye. So I felt had to make the blocks a bit bigger so it went better with the rest of the cammo.
I'll cut in some smaller pixels in the chocolate colour with the base colour which was deck tan to prevent them looking too blocky.
This stage was about 3 hours work but I did spent a huge amount of time to begin with on the helmet.
If anyone has a pair or eyes in their spares box I will gladly buy them.

Thats some very nice work there Gells, skin tones are cracking and so is the cammo, also like the knifes leather sheath, very convincing mate.

All the best
Steve

That looks fantastic.

Are you going to apply a Filter wash to "Blend" the contrast on the camo a little?

GREAT work!! That looks fantastic. A wash of the base colour will really fade it down nicely, as these uniforms lose alot of "shape" definition as they fade quickly.

Which colours did you end up using for each stage? I've found myself eyeing my copy of this every day now.....
